;   rainbow connection

Why are there so many songs about rainbows
And what's on the other side?
Rainbows are visions, but only illusions,
And rainbows have nothing to hide.
So we've been told and some choose to believe it
I know they're wrong, wait and see.
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection,
The lovers, the dreamers and me.

Who said that every wish would be heard and answered when wished on the morning star?
Somebody thought of that and someone believed it, and look what it's done so far.
What's so amazing that keeps us stargazing?
And what do we think we might see?
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection,
the lovers, the dreamers and me.

All of us under its spell,we know that it's probably magic....

Have you been half asleep and have you heard voices?
I've heard them calling my name.
Is this the sweet sound that calls the young sailors?
The voice might be one and the same.
I've heard it too many times to ignore it.
It's something that I'm supposed to be.
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection, the lovers, the dreamers and me.

La, la la, La, la la la, La Laa, la la, La, La la laaaaaaa

;   pouring cats & especially dogs.

wow, the rain is timely.
its pouring very heavily now.
and it stopped the dog from barking. just now it was..making some consistent noise...
shall not elaborate. it's not rated G.
it's kinda annoying.
then there's the workers shouting to each other just behind my house.
talk about noise pollution.
maybe the dog was barking/talking at/to them.
just came up from closing all the windows and collecting the clothes from outside.
wonder what she was doing.
i was already done by the time she pops her head out of the kitchen.
OHWELL.
her bags are packed alr.
what more can we expect?

;   5th of july - prawn fishing day!

5th July marks the first (of many to come) prawn-fishing day! <3
us 3 (namely chong, min & i) went down to j8 for lunch at delifrance & then to the place beside the golf course for prawn-fishing. 3 words to sum it all up: dirty but FUN!

it was drizzling a bit before we headed there. but the skies cleared soon after! :)was surprised to see many people there. (but then again, it's the weekend..) the smell of bbq was too good to resist! yummeh. we were about to walk towards the counter when chong & i witnessed a guy puking by the pool. erkugh. it was badddd. i still remember the colour of his vomit & the shirt he was wearing (it was orange & white respectively.) hoho, too much info. chong was real 'lucky' - a while ago, she was in the j8 toilet & heard someone..erm..puke in the cubicle beside her.

Anyway, we were pretty much disgusted by the sight & retreated back to the pool & observed the others on how to hook the bait & remove the prawn. realising that there was this certain area of the pool where people were consistently getting bigger prawns, we knew we HAD to go there & join in the fun. not before we got someone to teach us how to start prawning! the lady and the boss (?) was quite nice! :) he told us alot & we asked alot too. like what min has mentioned, the water was coloured, so it actually isnt that dirty.

prawn fishing -it's pretty easy to get started actually. just hook on the chicken heart bait & throw in the line! removing the prawn from the hook was much tougher. i got grabbed by one naughty prawn while trying to pluck off its pincers. (ps. we had to pluck it off. the boss taught me to grab the prawn head, pluck off the pincers & then remove the hook from its mouth) i felt pretty bad for it, but it was necessary to prevent it from hurting us. after handling the bait & prawn stuff, our hands were very stinky. (note: let's remember to bring soap & paper plates the next time round ok?)

the most difficult thing is to catch the prawn! the guy told us that there was a right timing & (i think) we have to rely on our gut feeling before we hoisted the line up. he even said we should pull it up and put it down (or something??) kinda hard to explain it, but trust me, it's not that easy! but im sure practice makes perfect! im sure we'll get our money's worth the next visit! speaking of which, the rates are:-
Per rod: 1 hour - $15, 2 hours $25, 3 hours $30.

the 3 of us took 2 rods to share! our baits got eaten so many times & we didnt realise that there are prawns at our lines. haha! fishing takes patience. we literally had to stare at our bait & wait till the floater sinks before attempting to pull the line up. and letting it sink for a while may be a good idea. pulling it too fast may scare the prawn away too.till now, i still dont really know how i got my prawn! my one and only catch though! but it's a pretty good experience, heh. the two girls beside us were good in prawn-fishing. their mums were very observant too - once, she said (in mandarin): "rod 60's got something!" by the time we realised it, the prawn had escaped. how naughty! (rod 60's our rod btw.)

after our (rather poor) catch, we bbq-ed them on a grill by the side. i think we looked pretty lost i guess. haha. 'cause quite a number of people came and help us..to stick the prawn on satay sticks, & to let us use the fire. the lady even gave us an extra 5 prawns for us to have 3 each.
1 was caught by the owner, 1 was donated by the guy who prawned beside us (& his very very cute daughter! we think he's jap) and 2 were caught by chong & i.
hoho. lucky us! we met alot of really nice people. :)

can't wait to go there again! (but let's remember to check the price at the other shop k!)
min said that we should prob get our band clique to go there someday, any takers?
i'm sure chong & min will not mind. me too. yay!

ps. shall add pics the next time. gotta get changed to head out to buy groceries. lalala!
